Its June!
OK, so its been June for like 4 days already and I am finally acknowledging it. June is one of my favorite months because its the mark of summer, my wedding anniversary and I happen to think the name is pretty as well! On that note, I haven't even stopped to smell the roses. My life is pure GO TIME at the moment. I swear I don't sit down on the couch and chill- I don't even like TV.
So with me running around like a crazy person sourcing tile, flooring, slabs, lights, furniture you name it, I tend to sit in my car and think about how to achieve balance. Ah that balance word that every women/mom/business owner talks about because its usually absent and we just want it or want more of it.
I'd love to hear how others are achieving it because I need some major tips! What's currently bothering me is I have zero time to exercise and for those of you that know we well, its like a shit storm rolls through when I do not get my run, walk and/or Dailey in. Its like food and coffee- I NEED IT in my life always. So your probably thinking...umm you run your own business, just take a break and make it happen. Oh I wish it was that easy. I haven't posted on my blog in two weeks and my computer lives upstairs in my house. I happen to live her too, so what does that say about my free time?!
I was just talking about this balance word with a friend of mine the other day. Both of ours issues were that we LOVE to work. We love it so much that we do it all the time, there is no "off" switch. Not M-F 9-5, but everyday, even on Sundays and after hours. So where's the balance? Zero, zip, nada. I am learning that there is none and there never will be if I don't create boundaries. This week I am working on boundaries and allowing myself to schedule ME time, that me time can be anything like exercise, a cell phone free lunch, massage, shopping. Something non- work related. Follow me on the gram, because I am holding my self accountable to document that I am really doing it(of course after the fact, not during!)
With our new little babe arriving on the cusp of August/Sept, I have less than three months to practice balance and continue to carry it with me once our new bundle is here- easy right?! I am laughing/crying. Wanna hear a real story: I ask my mom how I am going to do it all almost every time she visits. She simply tells me, "you just are!" She had 5 kids, so I believe her.
Wanna see some project updates?? I do, I do!
Were #flippingout over at the Carquinez Flip. This house is amazing! Corner lot, atop a hill with sweeping views. Preliminary finishes and some demo pictures are what I have to share. This project is on a super fast timeline and it's oh so exciting! Paint, lighting and cabinets will go in this week. More progress is right around the corner.

Oak Knoll Guest room Inspo!
Across the street is #projectparklane and I cannot stop talking about the Madison tiles from Cement Tile shop!! They are going to be gorgeous and the project is quickly taking off. Demo + an expanded shower, new wall and some recessed lighting was added last week. Stay tuned for more progress pics as this one will be completed asap!
