Back from our trip to Austin and I can finally come up for some air! We landed back in the bay and I swear the next four days were jammed with everything under the sun. My suitcase sat in the corner of my room til at least Friday!
Austin was pretty cool & I will definitely be back for the donuts at Voodoo! Loved visiting with my best friend Mel and her husband Jeff. They graciously hosted all three of us and didn't mind a 1 year old cruising around, opening & shutting cabinets and hiding remote controls.
A lot of people have been asking me about travel with Charlie- it was not difficult at all! I was a little nervous trying to "prep" everything prior to the trip, like enough clothes, essentials( diapers, food, etc) but we made it really easy on ourselves and bought a pack of diapers while we were there along with a few snacks. I packed him his own suitcase with enough clothes to stay a week longer if we really wanted too.
He did great at the airport and great on the plane. We received the Go-Go baby, which is a luggage attachment for the car seat. It was awesome and he was pretty happy wheeling through the airport. We checked it at the gate and got it back right as we landed, it really was very simple. The flight was about 3 hours and some change. He slept on me for about 1.5 hours which was great and the other half he wiggled his way back and forth between our laps and looking out the window. First flight was a success and we will definitely be doing it again with both of our babes!
Want to know the biggest question about the trip? How was Magnolia???
We drove to Waco( 1.5 hours out of Austin) and it was hot and muggy. Super small little town and then you drive up to the Silos and there's this line out the door and around the corner for the Magnolia bakery. $10 dollars to park and you basically hang out on this lawn area and play games if you want to. The weather was too uncomfortable to hang outside for very long, so we ate, looked through the market and drove home. The market was very cute and perfect for fans that wanted Joanna's hand picked farmhouse decor. Hats off to Chip and Joanna for a cute, family oriented gathering place!, If the weather was better and maybe they had a beer truck, we might have stayed awhile longer. AND if the bakery line was a few people deep you all know I would have been in that line.
Well that's my Austin recap a week later!. Busy, busy around the Grech household so keep following me on here and social media to see what else I am up to besides waking up at 6 am to blog:)
Happy Designing!
