Oh Sweet Cabin!

Pretty excited to share a personal project that my husband and I have been working on for the last 6 months- A Cabin in the woods!! We both share a love for escape as well as the fresh mountain air, so we decided to make it official and acquire a place that not only was completely vacant, but needed a lot of TLC.

The much easier route would have been to get something furnished and ready to move in, but nah! That was just too easy and we LOVE us some projects. The goal: to create a comfortable space where our family can gather and make memories. Something to be cherished for many years. 

So where do we start? Raise your hand if you said the the Kitchen?? That's right, the main hub of gathering, wine drinking, Baking and breakfast making. Of course I had to add baking in there:) If you are doing a whole house overhaul, I always recommend starting with the kitchen first. Let the most important room be your jumping off point. For us, its definitely the kitchen!

With that said, we have officially started the construction progress and I cant wait to share the progress pictures and design ideas along the way. 

[BEFORE KITCHEN]

I don't know about you, but a piano in the kitchen seems fitting...errr ok?

[DEMO DAY ONE]

-Removing existing kitchen cabs and appliances
-Demo half wall and stop sign window( sweet 80's design that we are not embracing!)

[FLOOR LEVELING]

-Leveling of the floors in preparation to lay new flooring( Materials TBD)
