The Blog is 2!
Wow, time does fly when you're having fun. Ashley Grech Design[The Blog]is two!!
Or time flies when your have a baby-either way I cannot believe that the new year is HERE!! My little blog is blossoming and a once dream of talking about design for a living is no longer a dream. It's an incredible reality.
Pinching myself.....yep, still here typing away!!
My passion runs pretty deep and I knew as a small child that I was either going to be in fashion or design. Its nice to know what you want to do when you grow up, right? Well it has it pro's and con's. I said fashion and design- those are huge industries with a lot of subdivisions. Narrowing it down was hard at times, but good thing I had great role models to look up to. Both of my parents worked in the corporate world for years. They were both independent by the time I was 10 and my brother was 8.
Apple isn't falling far from the tree, eh?
Standing where I am today, I have the up most respect for my parents. Anyone can start a business, but not just anyone can start a business and maintain its success. My father started his own Financial Advising business and it was highly successful up until his passing in 2009. My mother, who is 68 still works for herself 4-5 days a week. They have shown me that I can be anything and do anything. I watched them, I know its possible.
Being an entrepreneur is amazing, stimulating & freeing. In the same breath I can also say that it is challenging, stressful and down right hard at times. Much like being a parent there's good days and bad, but at the end of the day I wouldn't trade it for the world.
As I look back on 2016, my one word is "wow!" In 2016 I became a mother and that in it's self has challenged me in ways I never thought possible. I became a business owner, (insert whoot, whoot emoji) and with two HUGE, I'm taking BIG TIME changes I have somehow found this amazing stillness, peace and ease of life. It sounds cliche, but really its quite simple.
Follow your life passions, be smart and be kind. The rest will fall into place.
Cheers to 2017! I'm coming for you!

Ash
